If you would like to contribute to Team Kenny or join, please visit the ADA Tour de Cure web site and look up Michigan, then Brighton, and then Team Kenny.  Or, you can let me know at the email shown at the bottom of the page.  Here is the link to the main Tour de Cure webpage:

If you would like to pay be check, please email us at TeamKenny@TeamKenny4.com.  We will tell you where to send the check.

Please make any checks payable to "American Diabetes Association."  Please do NOT make checks payable to "Team Kenny" - but do list "Team Kenny" in the memo line.

Who rode with Team Kenny at Tour de Cure?  We had 8 riders as part of our team in 2010.  We hope to grow that in 2011.  If you would like to ride with us, send us an email (teamkenny@teamkenny4.com).  We would love to have you join us!

Kenny and his sister, Meganne, rode 10 miles in the 2010 Tour de Cure to help find a cure for diabetes.

Why is this webpage "Team Kenny 4"?
Well, Kenny is the fourth (IV), hence the 4 in the web page.  Plus, TeamKenny.com was already taken!

About Kenny

Kenny is in middle school in Plymouth, Michigan, where he is in the Talented and Gifted program.  He is a Boy Scout in Troop 1537, where he is now a Tenderfoot with 9 merit badges.  He hopes to one day reach the rank of Eagle Scout, which will require a lot of time and dedication.  As a diabetic, it is always necessary to "Be Prepared", so he is well-positioned for this aspect of scouting.  He also plays Little League baseball* and bowls, is learning to play the trumpet, and loves reading.

*  Diabetics can do it!  There are a number of major leaguers with diabetes.

Question - Why do we fundraise for ADA and not JDRF?  The answer is that we donate to both organizations, but my cycling got me involved in Tour de Cure, and this led to that and the next thing you know, Kenny was the Youth Ambassador for the 2010 Brighton Tour de Cure (an ADA event).

I raised about $1,100 for ADA through Tour de Cure in 2009, and Team Kenny raised $4,420 in 2010.  Our goal is to raise $2,500 by July 2011.  If you are reading this... please get the word out!  Please help make a difference.  Chances are very good that you know someone with diabetes. Let's be honest - diabetes is no fun, and it profoundly affects quality of life and potentially its duration.  We support organizations that are working to find a cure for diabetes.

We plan on supporting both organizations on an ongoing basis, but all of Team Kenny's current fundraising is for ADA.
